Growing up as a farm kid in rural Indiana, there was no shortage of chores for me to do. Cleaning the bathrooms in the farmhouse was one of my standard, weekly duties. While I enjoyed the sparkling porcelain, cloudless mirrors and motherly approval, it was easy to tell from my cracked hands and the nauseating fumes that harsh chemicals were at work.

But what got under my skin most—figuratively speaking—wasn’t the smells or dryness. It was the gymnastics of it all; the awkward balancing act between holding paper towels under one arm and my cleaning solution in the other. To a fourth generation farm kid who would later grow up to become an air traffic controller, the inefficiencies of cleaning stuck out like a sore thumb.

Fast forward to today and not much has changed in the ritual of cleaning. It’s still a clumsy experience and, even worse, single-use plastic bottles and their toxic ingredients are damaging our earth and oceans. Wanting a better solution for the nutrient-rich lands that raised me, my partner Katie and I decided to take matters into our own hands.

We’re hard at work developing our own glass and multi-surface concentrates. Something that doesn’t sting your eyes or burn your skin. Something that doesn’t leave behind a glossy (but suspicious) film that gets into your food. Something that smells like freshly cut grass instead of 8th grade chemistry class. This helps us go to bed with a clean conscious.

Why Concentrates?

Most store-bought cleaners are 97% water. That’s A LOT of unnecessary weight being transported around the world from A to aisle 3. We decided to shed the pounds and only supply what’s needed, helping with emissions and the overall end-cost to consumers.

We understand the environmental impact of paper manufacturing. But we also understand there are some messes you don’t want to wipe up with a rag and keep until laundry day. We’re looking into using bamboo as an alternative to traditional paper. Cause that’s how we roll.
